CALL FOR ABSTRACTS
The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Nairobi, will hold its 3rd Annual International Scientific Conference during the University of Nairobi’s 2025 Research and Innovation Week. The theme of this Conference is: “Advancing animal resource sub-sector through research and innovation in a dynamic landscape“. This conference aims to bring together experts from various fields to share best practices and the latest advancements in Veterinary Science through conference presentations and exhibitions. The conference will run from 22nd to 24th October, 2025.

CONFERENCE AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
The 3rd Faculty of Veterinary Medicine International Scientific Conference and Corporate Social Responsibility 2025 offers a dynamic platform for scholars, researchers, industry leaders, and policymakers to share insights and drive advancements in veterinary and wildlife research at national, regional and global levels. Guided by the theme, “Advancing the Animal Resource Subsector through Research and Innovation in a Dynamic Landscape,” the conference aims to foster cross-sector collaboration, share best practices and the latest advancements in Veterinary and Wildlife Science through conference presentations and exhibitions, bridge the gap between research and industry, and promote corporate social responsibility. It further seeks to engage stakeholders in supporting research, innovation and sustainable development and champion evidence-based solutions focused on service quality and technological innovation that address challenges facing livestock husbandry, veterinary medicine and wildlife management and conservation and sustainable growth worldwide.
Abstract submissions are invited under the following
Sub-Themes:
- Veterinary research ethics, animal welfare, and community engagement
- Drugs and antimicrobial resistance research
- Animal diseases, re-emerging zoonoses, and one health
- Wildlife, apiculture, and aquaculture
- Innovations in livestock production and feeding
- Livestock value chains, food and feed safety, and the role of gender
- Veterinary policy, regulation, training, and legislation
- Innovations in veterinary diagnostics, vaccines, and practice
- Animal disease surveillance and epidemiological research
- Basic sciences and biotechnology research
ABSTRACT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
- Abstracts must bear the title, name of presenting author and co-authors, affiliation details, and the email of the corresponding author.
- Abstract title should be limited to 15 – 17 words and in upper case font.
- Abstract text must be limited to a maximum of 400 words, font 12, double space, Times New Roman
- The sub-theme under which the abstract is submitted, and the format the authors prefer to present (Oral or Poster) must be indicated after the title
- Abstracts should include background, aims, methods, key results, and conclusions, 3-5 keywords with an indication of how the work can help to overcome real-life challenges.
- Once the abstracts are accepted, the authors must register and pay the registration fees for their abstracts to be included in the final program.
- Submission of an abstract acknowledges your acceptance that the abstract and the research findings will be peer-reviewed and published in the conference proceedings.
- Authors of the accepted abstracts must submit their full presentations or papers before 1st October, 2025.
Abstracts are to be submitted via email to the organizing committee through the email vetmed- conf@uonbi.ac.ke before 31st July, 2025
CONFERENCE FORMAT The conference will be held at the Kabete Campus of the University of Nairobi, and a virtual option will be available through the University of Nairobi conference link, which will be provided to the registered participants. The conference papers will be presented on PowerPoint.
