INTRODUCTION
This is to invite you to the 8th International Conference, focusing on ‘‘Use of Digital Technology to Enhance Crime Prevention and Victim Support ‘organized during University of Nairobi Research Week 2025 in collaboration with Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Kaduna State, Nigeria and Kibabii University, Bungoma County, Kenya. The conference will be held from 23 – 24 October 2025.It is a blended conference with face-to-face sessions taking place at the University of Nairobi, Kenya. Digital technologies offer powerful tools for both preventing crime and supporting victims. From predictive policing using AI to analyze crime patterns to using online platforms for reporting and support, technology can significantly enhance safety and justice. However, it’s crucial to address ethical concerns like privacy and bias to ensure responsible implementation.

Conference Objectives
1.To provide a forum for stakeholders both international and local, to deliberate and share insights and ideas on victimology and victim circumstances across board.
2.To bring together multi-disciplinary researchers and scholars where subjects like law, sociology, criminology, psychology, gender and education converge to calibrate on victim assistance process, victimization and crime prevention.
3.To create local solutions for understanding the link between Rights of vulnerable victims and the Criminal Justice System
4.To show case good practices of supporting victims, survivors and perpetrators on integration into the society.
5.To position victim support, victimization and crime prevention and perpetrator work as fields of impactful research and practice in addressing critical societal challenges.
Abstract Submission Guidelines
Original papers on going researches are welcome. Collaboration among multiple authors, colleagues and other scholars is highly encouraged. Co-authored papers will be accepted with consent from both authors. It is the responsibility of the Lead Presenter to obtain the consent of fellow authors. All presentations must adhere to intellectual property rights legislation. University of Nairobi will not be responsible for infringements of intellectual property or plagiarism in any of the conference presentations.
Abstracts for paper presentations must include a description of each of the following:
The research focus or problem The conceptual framework informing the research Research methods, including ethics Key insights or findings, and implications. Conference papers will be presented using power-point
