UoN Afretec Early Career Researcher Mentorship and Training Workshop
The University of Nairobi (UoN), through the Afretec Knowledge Creation Pillar, continues to advance its mission of strengthening research capacity, mentorship, and innovation among early-career researchers and PhD students. In alignment with Afretec’s vision of driving Africa’s digital transformation through collaborative teaching, learning, and knowledge creation.
The UoN Afretec Early Career Researcher Mentorship and Training Workshop will be held from 22nd to 24th October 2025 at the UoN Towers.
This workshop, organized by the UoN Afretec Knowledge Creation Pillar, will bring together scholars, mentors, and practitioners from across Africa for an engaging and practical learning experience.
Structured around three core streams—Mentorship, Grant Proposal Training, and Research
Support—the program will cover:
- Establishing strong multidisciplinary and multicultural collaborations within UoN,
nationally, regionally, and globally - Grants: Where are they and how do you access them?
- Mentorship and career development
- Artificial intelligence in research
- Quality research, research ethics, and PhD supervision
The workshop will be facilitated by an exceptional team drawn from the University of Nairobi, Maseno University, Dedan Kimathi University of Technology (DeKUT), and distinguished experts from South Africa, France, and the Netherlands.
