Introduction
We are pleased to announce the 7th Annual International Conference on Project Management, organized by the Department of Management Science and Project Planning under the Faculty of Business and Management Sciences at the University of Nairobi. This event will be held during the University of Nairobi’s 2025 Research Week. The conference theme is Research and Innovation in a Dynamic Project Management Landscape, focusing on emerging research, innovative practices, and technological advancements that are shaping project management and driving greater adaptability, efficiency, and competitive advantage in achieving successful project results. This year’s conference offers a platform for professionals from various disciplines to exchange knowledge, share best practices, and discuss the latest developments in project planning, design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, project financing, and project management information systems, all geared towards fostering sustained competitive advantage in achieving successful project outcomes. Renowned speakers will represent a broad range of fields, including higher education, construction, transportation, social development, education, healthcare, engineering, anthropology, sociology, environmental studies, economics, management, information and communication technology, among others. The conference seeks to encourage the exchange of ideas and professional expertise, providing a unique forum for scholars, practitioners, and innovators to collaborate and advance transformative project management. We warmly invite you to be part of this collective effort to promote excellence in project management and contribute to building a more resilient and sustainable future. Your participation will help shape meaningful discussions and outcomes at this significant event.
The conference extends an invitation for papers within the field of Project Management. Abstracts with a word count not exceeding 350 words are welcome. Upon abstract acceptance, you will be asked to submit a comprehensive full paper, not exceeding 15 pages. Both abstract and full paper should be in Word format.
Format
The conference be blended, incorporating both in-person and virtual participation. Registered online attendees will be provided with an access link. The conference programme will feature presentations and panel discussions. We also welcome TED talks, fishbowl and posters.
Objectives
The primary objective of the conference is to offer researchers, postgraduate students, practitioners, experts from various fields, as well as individuals and representatives from universities and organizations, a platform to present and exhibit their research achievements, innovations, proposals, and ideas that have worked. Specifically, the conference aims to:
- Showcase influential research on a global scale, promoting visibility and acknowledgment within academic and professional circles, while emphasizing the contributions of universities, organizations, and individuals.
- Offer a dynamic forum for participants to gain insights from esteemed experts, deepening their knowledge of current project management challenges and encouraging collaborative dialogue.
- Foster valuable networking opportunities that inspire productive collaborations among diverse stakeholders, supporting partnerships that drive progress in project management initiatives.
- Strengthen the connection between theory and practice, bridging gaps across various disciplines and professions.
Abstract Submission Guidelines
We welcome both empirical and theoretical academic papers, fostering strong collaboration among numerous authors, colleagues, and scholarly peers. We highly endorse co-authored papers, provided that consent is secured from all authors involved. Responsibility rests with the lead author to obtain the requisite co-author consents. All presentations are expected to uphold intellectual property rights legislation. It is emphasized that the University of Nairobi assumes no responsibility for infringements of intellectual property or instances of plagiarism in any conference presentations.
Abstracts for conference presentation must include a description of each of the following:
- The research focus or problem
- Contribution to the ongoing debate on the theme
- Theoretical framework informing the research
- Research methodology, including ethics
- Key insights or findings, and implications
- Conclusion and recommendations
- Suggestions for further research/studies
