Are has been in charge of Reform since 2012. He has a background in psychiatry and health care and has experience as a union representative, author and debater.

Men are often considered as perpetrators of violence in close relationships – but seldom seen as vulnerable, and also as victims of violence themselves. The Norwegian gender Equality centre Reform – Resource Centre for Men has 20 years of experience on working with men and violence.
