Jeane W Mathenge

Over 23years’ experience in program and project management as a practitioner, consultant, facilitator and trainer in the USA, Canada, Kenya and the wider East Africa and South Sudan region.

Jeane is known for being fiercely passionate about projects and is a champion for mainstreaming project management as a best practice discipline. She has consultedlocally and internationally across multiple sectors in technology, health, insurance, financial, hospitality, logistics and construction. She is a US trained practitioner, having worked in a highly projectized environment with a fortune 500 company in Bloomington Il; this inspired her certifications in PMP®Prince2®and PMD PRO®, and ongoing PHD studies in Project Management.Her research interests are in strategic project management, performance, governance and benefits management.She seeksforinstitutionalization ofsound operative project practices in Kenya based on value realization of benefit outcomes.

Jeane is currently serving as President of the Project Management Institute (PMIK) Kenya Chapter, having previously served as the Vice President of Education & Professional Development. Jeane is an avid coach and mentor to advance the practice and growth of project management in Kenya, and pioneered the first Mentorship forum in Project Management  for upcoming and working project practitioners. She is the patron and founding member of Women in Projects Kenyapioneer member of Women in Project Management SIG, USA to advance talents in women project leaders. Jeane is also a mentor in Women in Africa Initiative (Deloitte), the first international platform dedicated to the economic development and support of leading and high potential African women.She also supports growth of active youth leader leaders and change makers to deliver meaningful impact in local communities through the Global Action and Impact network (GAIN).

Through her firm Global Protocol Solutions, Jeane has implemented transformative organizational change through strategic, PMO and Enterprise systems programsin the NGO, public and private sector. She leverages her firm as a platform to demonstrate the value of effectively applied project management practices in organizational change, real estate, Information, Communication and Technology and more prominently, the health sector.

Jeane is affiliated with APM Prince2®, PMI USA, PMI chapters in Kenya, Illinois and Vancouver. As a trainer and speaker, she has facilitated Project Management learning at various forums such as PMI events, Big 5 Africa, and universities including AMREF International, Strathmore Business School, International Leadership University, Heartland Community College Business School Illinois, and coached numerous leaders to PMP®certification through the Central Illinois and Vancouver PMI Chapters.
