Sophie leads lead the International Planning Studies (IPS) research group at the Department of Spatial Planning and the international Master´s program, Technical University of Dortmund. Her research is on manifold dynamics of city-making with a focus on heterogeneous infrastructure, planning and housing in cities of the global South. Has worked as part of a Research Group leader at Kassel University in the project “Dis-ordering African cities urban planning, housing and infrastructures in Dakar and Nairobi” and as an Assistant Professor at the chair of Human Geography and Spatial Planning at Utrecht University.
