Call for Abstracts
Title: Channeling Research for Resilience and Sustainability for African Women
Concept Note:
The status of African women stands as a pivotal concern for sustainable development across the continent. Despite confronting multifaceted challenges, African women continue to demonstrate remarkable resilience, contributing significantly to the sustainability of their communities. Understanding their experiences, needs, and aspirations through research is fundamental for creating effective policies and interventions that foster gender equity and equality and the empowerment of women, thereby achieving the sustainable development goals (SDGs). The conference “Channeling Research for Resilience and Sustainability for African Women” provides a dynamic platform for researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and advocates converging and exchanging insights, experiences, and best practices. By leveraging research, this conference aims to identify strategies and solutions that enhance the resilience of African women and contribute to the sustainability of their communities.

- Women Leading Cultural Transformation for Sustainable Communities
- Role of women in Climate Change Resilience, Mitigation and Adaptation
- Empowering Women Entrepreneurs: Cultivating Sustainable Cultures through MSMEs and the Hustler Fund
We invite abstract submissions from diverse stakeholders addressing these sub-themes and related topics. Abstracts should present original research, case studies, policy analyses, or innovative initiatives that contribute to understanding and advancing the status of African women.
Submission Guidelines:
- Abstracts should be no more than 300 words in length.
- Clearly indicate the sub-theme your abstract aligns with.
- Include a brief biographical statement for all authors.
- Abstracts must be submitted by 30th July 2024 to awsc-conf@uonbi.ac.ke.
- Notification of acceptance will be sent by 15th August 2024.
- Full papers must be submitted by 15th September 2024 to awsc-conf@uonbi.ac.ke.
- Registration Deadline is 20th October 2024.
